BIOPROCESS ENGINEER

Dr. Jesús E. Rodríguez G. is an agro-industrial engineer with a Ph.D. in crop science. He has dedicated his career to the reutilization of agricultural and agro-industrial wastes to produce value-added products such as Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). Jesús has developed the innovative recombinants of Cupriavidus necator DSM 545 strains with the capacity of the efficient expression of nuclease and lipolytic enzymes. In addition, he has extensive experience in the production of PHA using pure and mixed cultures at the laboratory and pilot scale, as well as in the extraction and recovery of PHA using eco-friendly methods. Through joining the ULUU team, Jesús is fulfilling his dream of replacing synthetic plastics.
